I grew up in North Dakota where we could ride our bikes all over town and go out for a jog at midnight. It was great! That freedom was something I developed a love for, and have seen played out in the varied career paths I have taken in my life. I received my degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota and worked for the Minneapolis office of Arthur Andersen. I parlayed my interest in people and experience in accounting into a recruiting position with an international staffing firm, where I was the Top Management Recruiter Worldwide for the organization, two years in a row. I have also functioned as the Director of Business Development for another staffing company, Vice President of Client Services for Certes Financial Pros, and was a member of the management team for the launching of a thrift store, Hidden Treasures. In addition, I have held various consulting roles including fundraising, recruiting, marketing, and sales. I currently coach individuals in job transitions through my own business, CareerSmartz, and serve as the Interim Director of Sales for Certes.
I came back to Certes because of the wonderful people, commitment to integrity, and enjoyable work environment. And it doesn't hurt that it's only 5 minutes away from my house, door to chair!

People! Growing up in North Dakota left an indelible imprint on me. Although I was always busy, there was a peace that existed with the generally slower pace and freedom of wide open space. I've found, as I grow older, that I enjoy things like a canopy of trees over a lazy pathway, laughing and celebrating with friends, mowing my lawn, and getting to know my neighbors. So, while I still like to workout, walk, read, and work.I really find people far more interesting.

The ancient paths still speak a great deal of wisdom. I also believe my nephew (he's my first) is probably going to be a Governor or President, he really is that smart! |
